Volunteer Form

Volunteers are key to the work of Project YANO. They act in a variety of capacities, all of which contribute to the overall project. Please indicate if you are interested in doing any of the categories of work below. Some of the tasks are done regularly, others infrequently or only during the school year. ORGANIZATIONAL

 Attend monthly organizational meetings
(rotated locations) to help plan activities.

 Help organize fundraising events
These can include house parties, yard sales, film showings, our annual Work-a-thon, etc.

 Write thank you notes
Can be done from one’s home.

 Help with bulk mailings
(usually done in one evening in Encinitas).

 Help with filing
(in Encinitas).

 Staff tables at street fairs
(weekends, usually in San Diego).

YOUTH OUTREACH / EDUCATION

 Classroom speaking
(usually weekdays, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. time frame, around S.D. County). Military veterans and non-veterans are needed to educate high school students about the military enlistment process, realities of war and military careers. Some training is required. All interested volunteers are considered for this; military veterans, people of color and women are especially needed.

 Staff table displays at school career fairs
(usually weekdays, 7 a.m.-2 p.m. time frame, around S.D. County). All interested volunteers are considered for this; military veterans, people of color and women are especially needed.

 Help with first-class mailings to teachers, counselors, etc.
Can be done from one’s home.

 I work at a school or youth agency and can set up presentations
